Mike Lake is a hidden gem in Golden Ears Provincial Park. A great place for fishing, hiking, and ice skating in a cold winter! There are two main trials at Mike Lake. The Mike Lake Loop Trail is a quick circuit, about 20 – 30min hike with slight elevation. For a more strenuous hike, also starting from the lake, you’ll find the Incline Trail… just as it sounds the Incline Trail is not for the weak hearted. Many visitors end up passing by the lake on their way up to Alouette Lake but this trail is perfect for families and a short nature walk.
With a large incline section you climb up the mountain to a loop and the mouths of many other access roads, mountain biking and equestrian trails to choose from that extend up the mountain, back into the city and even branch into the UBC Malcolm Knapp Research forest.
